Do you work with families in the Dunfermline area? Or want to help those in need? We are having an Information Event at:
The Salvation Army Centre,
Friday 8th May, 12pm until 2pm
We would love to see you if you are interested in:
Volunteering with us...
We desperately need people who would like to get involved in a practical way. Come along and have a chat with us, and lets talk about how we can use your skills to greatest effect.
Referring families to us through our voucher scheme...
If your work brings you into contact with those in need, then we would be very interested to hear from you. Your experience is an asset we would love to be able to use, to help those that you support. You can register with us to be a Referrer, and issue our vouchers for clothes packs.
We will supply the tea, coffee and biscuits, and a large dose of friendly chat. You can supply bags of enthusiasm, your ideas and your experiences. Together we can begin to make a difference to kids in Fife. Starting here. Starting now.
We are getting so much support from the local community it is hard to keep up. To give you a flavour of the depth and breadth of support we are fortunate to have, we have created a "Latest Donors" page so that we can express our thanks publicly. If you would like to donate, please get in touch either here or through our Facebook page :) And if you are publicity-shy, we will keep you off the page if you want...just let us know.
Wow! Just done a collection from the The Cake Fairy Tearoom, and the donations were immense so thank you so much and Thank you to Yvonne (Mrs Cake Fairy) for allowing us to use your lovely shop as a drop off!. If you're dropping off at The Cake Fairy Tearooms, you seriously need to try a cupcake, all we can say at FCCB is ............YUM!!! :)
The Cake Fairy Tearoom
170 High Street
Monday - Saturday
10.00 - 3.00
It has been a while coming, but we have finally got a 'Donate' button up and running on our website. All donations are made via PayPal, and you can use it to donate in any way you like, even set up recurring donations if you wish. Best of all, you don't even need a PayPal account yourself to use it and benefit from its safety and security.
Cash payments are important to us, as there a number of things we want to be able to provide, such as, underwear, tights and socks, that we have to provide brand new. Of course, any donations of such items that we receive still in the packs are fine.
Additionally, there are the unavoidable running costs that we need help with too. These allow us to organise collections and distribution, and communicate with those that want to help us, and those that need our help themselves.
More great news today!! The Nationwide Building Society are going to be donating the proceeds of their Rag Bag collection to us and they are allowing the public to put their items into the collection box too.
Please don't place donations of children's clothes in this collection box though - these should be dropped off at a Drop Off point, or contact us for collection.
The Rag Bag collection box is located in the car park of the Nationwide Building Society, Caledonia House, Carnegie Avenue, Dunfermline ( Formerly The Dunfermline Building Society Head Office). The box is through the barriers however the barriers are up until approximately 22.00, so members of the public are welcome to drop off any of the following items:
All men's and ladies clothing
Paired shoes (tied together)
Handbags, bags, ties & belts
Household linen & towels
NO children's clothes
This is fantastic news for Fife Children's Clothing Bank as it allows us to convert unwanted clothing into cash donations. We want to raise money so that we can purchase a very much needed van, which will allow us to continue collecting donations.
It's a fantastic privilege to be supported by DAFC, and we met with them this weekend. You can read more about that, and what they are doing to help us get donations by reading about it here COYP!! And thanks again.
Wow what a fantastic start for Fife Children's Clothing Bank, we have now had over two tonnes of clothes donated so thank you to everyone. This week is going to be another week of exciting announcements including the details of our new Dunfermline Drop off :)
